Some Common mistakes are detailed below:
Electrical panels can incorporate ¼” (6mm) plexi-glass or Perspex guards within.
Suggestion.. Do not install an IR Sightglass with a Perspex guard between the target and the Sightglass.
Cable termination sections – especially in IEC equipment – can incorporate “phase barriers” make from fibre or polycarbonate.
Suggestion.. Infrared radiation cannot pass through phase barriers meaning at least TWO IR sightglasses are required, once oppose each barrier, in order to view all three terminations.
Motor control centres can incorporate a large number of circuits, where do we start?
Suggestion.. Start with critical equipment. Main incomers, bus transition sections and extremely important, less critical loads such as lighting can be bypassed to reduce overall cost.
